What an awesome weekend and a funtastic experience

What a difference a week makes.....

Was very honoured to be asked by Gail Pan to be the 'shop' at her 'Stitched in Time ' workshop on Saturday 1st August.  Loz and Gail did an awesome job organising the
day with  4 projects from Gail and endless food and drink organised by Loz.

The day was wet and cold and made us appreciate the heating in the hall even more.
I am so lucky to have met so many wonderful ladies involved in this wonderful world of quilting.  It was so nice to see so many of you again.

9.00 rolled into 9.30 and the ladies started coming....
coffee, tea some quick purchases and at 10 Gail began with 4 projects.
Not sure how much stitching was being  done but there was certainly a lot of catching up.

I was lucky to meet some of Nays Place Facebook friends including one from WA,the Hills,  the Brooky girls, the Roxby Girls, friends from other stitching weekends and more.

Soon the hall looked like this....

This was the first time I have taken Nays Place on the road and leaving the comfort of my shed was a big step for me - a few anxious moments - am I packing enough, and I taking the right things, will anyone buy anything, do I need more, less etc etc.
According to my husband I did pack the kitchen sink.

.
I had an awesome day - thank you all so much for making me realise
Nays Place can be a reality and not just a dream.

My trusty help Liz and myself (My kids told me I look like where's Wally in my glasses is this where I'm suppose to say thanks kids)

The shop waiting for customers ;)

Unpacking and no this isn't fun......

Some of Gail's new fabric 'Amongst the Flower' I have ordered the range and will be creating kits for Gail's Free Quilt Pattern on the Red Rooster page

Had an awesome Sunday breakfast with these ladies - 3 1/2 hours later and I eventually went home

Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend the opening of the new redevelopment of the Recreation Centre - I have been involved with a volunteer group who have worked very hard to win some Federal and State grants to do a $1 million redevelopment including new clubrooms, new courts, new playground, new seating and new run up tracks for our long jump pits.

This is me in my 'other work' uniform

This is what I am going to play with this weekend after my daughters Netball.  My head is spinning with ideas - using Jelly Roll strips to gather and put on a quilt.

Stay tuned I am putting together a whole heap of bolts for a $10 per meter sale -
an 'End of Winter/ Here comes Spring/ less than 20 weeks till Christmas'

Stay tuned for more
